Borinda lushienensis Yunnan4

This is Borinda lushuiensis syn: (Borinda edulis) syn: Fargesia edulis.
A very recently introduced bamboo that has proved itself so far as being well behaved whilst producing tall and thick culms with thin walls.

The oldest plant so far in this country is in Carwinion Gardens, Cornwall which has grown to over 10 metres at 5cm+ diameter.
Total hardiness has not yet been fully experienced. Here at Jungle Giants we have had plant material for seven years which has been exposed to temperatures down to -7c without damage. The winter of 2009/10 with a temperature down to -14c it suffered leaf damage.
with no damage to leaves or stems.

Has stems that are a very striking powder blue when new.

If you wish to purchase this bamboo we suggest you plant it in a sheltered position. It appears to be tolerant of a semi shaded or sunny situation.
We would be interested to hear of any growing experiences of this bamboo.
