Borinda papyrifera CS1046

Borinda papyrifera CS1046

One of the most exciting of the newly introduced Borindas. Collected from the slopes of Mt Zi Ben Shan at around 3300m in the Yunnan province of China.

This non-invasive clumping bamboo has ice blue stems that reach large proportions in both height and girth. Typically reaching over 5 metres with stem diameters of over 30mm. Very strong upright growth as the stems are nearly solid and ideal for producing garden canes and craft work.

The plants offered here are the Chris Stapleton collection CS1046. It is possible to have a plant 5 metres tall grown on in the ground from a 20 litre pot in 2 growing seasons.

Plants suffered damage in severe winter 2010/11. Very rare in cultivation with limited stock available..
