Thamnocalamus spathiflorus

Thamnocalamus spathiflorus

A small leaved clumping bamboo which likes sun/semi-shade. Gracefully arching culms change from green to reddish-purple in sunlight.
New culms emerge from red-tinted sheaths.
Older culms can have pink to red shading on top of the yellow-green culms.
The typical plant can be recognised by its thin-walled culms. The smaller, younger plants are often leafy and arching in habit, but the older plants grow in a more upright fashion.

Average spread is about 2-5ft when mature.
